What happens if I get sick before the residence programme?
Another applicant will be picked from the reserve list to take your position. No compensation is foreseen.
How’s the visa procedure to Ethiopia?

You have to check if you’re exempt. If not, you should apply online for a tourist e-visa, which is valid for 30 days.

Do it at www.evisa.gov.et the day after receiving confirmation of participation in Maisha programme.

It costs 82 USD. Pay online and you will be reimbursed upon arrival in Addis Ababa.

What happens if my visa request is refused?
Do I need vaccinations for Ethiopia?
Yes.
Compulsory: Yellow fever.

Usually advised: Diphtheria, Hepatitis A, Poliomyelitis and Tetanus.

Other to consider: Hepatitis B, Meningitis, Rabies and Typhoid.

Will I be picked up at the airport?

During the residence programme

Where do I stay while in Ethiopia?
In a 4-star hotel that will be announced soon.
How do I move around in Addis?
Transfer from the hotel to the residence programme and back is guaranteed on weekdays. Other transportation costs (evenings & weekends) should be paid using the pocket money received.
What happens if I get sick before the residence programme?
Another applicant will be picked from the reserve list to take your position. No compensation is foreseen.
How long is the residence programme?

The programme will run for three weeks in May 2024

What is the residence programme schedule?
Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evenings and weekends are off.
Do I receive pocket money / per diem?
Yes, each participant receives 25 EUR per day to cover evening transportation and dinner. Breakfast and lunch are already included in the package.
How will I receive my participation fees?
33% upon arrival in Addis Ababa, 33% upon completion of rehearsals and 33% after the Addis performance.
In what currency will pocket money & participation fees be paid?

Pocket money will be paid in ETB. Participation fees will be paid in EUR.

What are the languages used?
English and French.
What happens if I get sick during the residence programme?
You get medical attention covered by the programme. If impossible to continue, another applicant is selected from the reserve list to take your position. Compensation to be agreed.
What are my communication and visibility obligations?

After the residence programme

Do I get a diploma? If so, when?
Yes, diplomas will be signed by AU and EU high officials and awarded one month after the residence is over.
How many performances will happen after the residence programme?
Two have been confirmed: 25 May 2024 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and another in mid-June in Brussels, Belgium.
Additional ones (max 3) will happen until the end of the year.
What happens in the years to come?
Maisha Dance performances will happen when Dance festivals, other events or organisations invite the group to perform. They will cover participation costs.
